Emily is the Nutrition Program Officer at Nindilingarri. The aim of the Nutrition Program is to improve health outcomes and prevent chronic disease for those living in the Fitzroy Valley through improving food and nutrition.
We are never to young or old to adopt healthier eating practices. Emily partners with local organisations, schools and communities to conduct group education sessions. These sessions cover everything from the Australian Dietary Guidelines to label reading, importance of bush food in the diet, preventing chronic disease and how to add more fruit and vegetables to your favourite meals. The Nutrition Program has worked closely with community stores to develop policies which promote healthy products, making it easier for customers to identify. Alice is also happy to consult on healthy foods provided at your next local event - but don't get her confused with a caterer!
As a community nutritionist it is outside the scope of Emily's work to provide individual client consultations include early intervention, tertiary prevention or chronic disease management. Should anyone require these services, referrals should be directed to the relevant Kimberley dietitian either BOAB or WACHS.
