Mums & Bubs and Strong Families

Vacant

The Maternal Health Promotion Program exists to support and improve the health of pregnant women and their babies. The program aims to empower women, families and communities through education and knowledge and the development of environments that support a healthy pregnancy.

The program can provide:

  • Support to community initiatives or programs that promote healthy pregnancies such as programs that encourage alcohol, tobacco and gunja free pregnancies.

  • Home visits for pregnant women and their families, to deliver healthy pregnancy education and support, though the ‘Baby Bundles’ program.

  • Support to pregnant women, parents and others through assisting with the development and running of pregnancy support groups, women’s groups, playgroups and school-based 0-3 groups.

  • Education sessions on topics relating to healthy pregnancy, child development and parenting (including delivery of the Triple P program) to any interested people or groups in the Fitzroy Valley.

  • Support to first time mums through running ‘First time mum’s trips to Derby’, to familiarise them with the birthing process.

The Nindilingarri Maternal Health Promotion program does not provide clinical services. For clinical support please contact the Community Health midwife on 91661729.

Charlotte is interested in working in partnership with other organisations in the Fitzroy Valley to ensure everybody is working collaboratively so that the mothers and babies of the valley can achieve the best health outcomes possible.
